Great suggestion. One further suggestion is that once you resolve this
problem that you go through and add each printer to the host file, and for
the devd that you have the printer name for the remote location.

you could try DSPOBJD *ALL *DEVD and parse out what you want.
Tim, I wrote a program called SHOWIP that shows the IP address of all
telnet session as well as IP connected printers:
Show Active IP Addresses
System . . . . : EBIZ01
Type options, press Enter.
5=Work with Device Status 8=Work with User Job
Opt Device UserId IpAddress HostName

Is there a way to dump, device descriptions to a file?
I have tried dspdevd and wrkdevd
My goal is to have a list of devices by IP address... We have a printer in
the field that is bad, and i'm having trouble isolating the correct devd...

dspdevd will let me dump it to a printfile... but it will only do it by a
specific device name... So now I'm wondering if I have to write a program
to
do this... current release v4r5
