This feature (Media and Storage Extensions) is required when using Backup and Media tools like BRMS. It allowes these tools to proceed any tape activity (for example, to protect a tape against initializing when the tool thinks the backups on the tape must be preserved). This is a chargeable feature of the OS/400 (option 18) so you have to buy a license. (you can get a temporary 20 days key). You could try to save this feature (using the SAVLICPGM option 18 command), delete it (using the DLTLICPGM option 18 command) and restore ir (RSTLICPGM option 18 command). Not sure it will restart the 70 days period. Or you could try to delete it, reinstall it from the software CD, then reapply all its PTF. Again, not sure it will restart the 70 days period. > > Thanks for any help. > > ___________________________________ > Mauricio Della-Quercia > Sr. Programmer/Analyst > LegendWare Systems Inc.
