Incidentally the ISP I use at home (cix.co.uk) provides a superb off-line reader, Ameol, for e-mail and it's own conferencing system. Ameol (A Most Excellent Off-Line reader) has dozens of add-ons, mostly written by Cix's own customers. One of these gives a pop-up window with an instant translation of hundreds of acronyms - just right-click on the acronym and if it knows it, up it comes.
