I believe you are looking for the J14 port, at least that is what we used to
connect up our systems...

There is a port on the AS/400 just for this purpose.  On the
box I had set up, it was mounted in the chassis itself, not on
one of the cards which is why I had never noticed it before.

In fact, I had to pull out the scematic for the ports on the
AS/400 to figure out which one it was (there were 3 of them
I seem to recall, don't remember what the other 2 were 4).

Your AS/400 has it, have fun finding it though <g>
