ADSM (ADSTAR Distributed Storage Manager) which is now know as TSM (Tivoli
Storage Manager)

In short, it is a client/server based backup system. You can backup other
machines onto your 400.

I would suggest to stay away from it in the 400 world. It works much better in
the RS/6000 and PC enviroment, which we use for a large number of servers.

We use native BRMS for all of our 400 backups, and really like it. But I would
suggest takeing the class at Rochester before useing it.

If you wan't more info on TSM or BRMS, l would be happy to help.

We are looking at getting BRMS/400 on one of our AS/400's so that we can
back up Lotus Domino without taking the service down. In the course of
looking at BRMS, I keep bumping in to a product called ADSTAR and one
called ADSM. What are these products, and under what circumstances would
I need them?
