As Al said, folders are not going away.

But, yes, you should be encouraging them to not store data in folders.
Instead use directories, and I mean directories not under QDLS.

Green Screen:
If you do WRKLNK '/*' you should get a list of directories

Op's Nav:
Open your AS/400.  Then open File Systems.
You also may wish to consider NetServer to set up shares.

A good reason to avoid folders is that they have a big performance hit.

PS:
Bummer about the EtQ conference being cancelled.  I can understand the
company not being in a mood to party in NYC this month.  I wasn't going,
but a coworker was.

I understand that OV400 is going away.  Will folders go away?  Most of my
users
access list of folders via OV400 Work with Folders & Docs.  And, of course,
by
mapping drives.  Should I be encouraging them not to store data in folders?
