Agreed. We probably can't stop it, but we may have a chance to decrease it (or, on the other hand, increase it). Working to understand its roots in feelings of frustration, powerlessness, oppression, and marginalization might be one way to start. Working to remove the conditions that cause those feelings could go a long way to making the situation better.
