the DB2 everyplace software will let you run SQL interactively or in an
application on the palm. It's actually a subset of the standard SQL found in
DB2 beginning with V5. (Not the 400 V5, but DB2 UDB V5.)

it's connection to the 400 (unless its changed recently) is actually through
NT. The data can be staged on the NT in DB2 V7 or V6 (possibly V5) and then
replicated (bidirectionally) through NT to the palm. The replication can be
used with DPropR on the 400 to maintain the NT database.

When the planets are aligned, you should be able to get DB2 on NT to talk to
the 400 DB2 directly. (I hear anyway, it almost always tells me the version
is not supported. sigh.)

I have not looked at Satellite (in DB2) but it was for "occassionally
connected" users. Maybe they have something for palm there too???
