Possibilities:
1. Change file status to *HELD.
2. Change forms type.
3. Change USRDTA to the e-mail log number.
4. Move sent items to a trash output queue.

Subject: RE: Need an API to modify status on spool file

No not exactly, what I am doing is I have an OUTQ defined specifically for
emailing spool files, when jobs are sent to this queue in a status of ready
a
DATAQ record is written, which in turn is the signal to my email job
(which runs constantly) to email the file to the user. The thing is,
if the print file
was defined with a SAVE attribute I want to still retain the file
otherwise I simply remove the spool file from the system. For the time
being I simply defined
another outq (EMAILSENTQ) and am moving the files with SAVE to this OUTQ .
