On SEVERAL of my V5R1 machines I try prompting the CHGSMTPA command and I
get an error with the prompt override program. Results are that all the
parameters are changed to *SAME instead of displaying their existing
values. Error messages are: CPD0047, CPD680B. I opened up a pmr with
IBM. They recommended deleting the file QUSRSYS/QATMSMTP. You may have to
ENDMSF first. When you prompt CHGSMTPA again all of your values will be
set back to IBM defaults, and the file will be rebuilt. I then asked how
do I find out the values in this file and correlate them to the CHGSMTPA
so's I don't lose any values. I can do a DSPPFM QUSRSYS/QATMSMTP. This is
their response:
ACTION TAKEN: The values on the first line relate to the SMTP retry
values for minute and days with the last Y or N being the retry remote
name server. The value on the next line is the User ID delimeter. The
following line is the Mail Router. The next line relates to your
automatic registration. The following line is your autostart value and
your firewall parameter in that order. The next line is your Mapping
tables. Then it is the coded character set identifier. The next three
lines are Journal, Process all mail though MSF and Percent routing
character. The next line is the SMTP retries by hour. The next to the
last line is your Dial-up scheduler settings. The last line is the OS
version.
