If you are using client express then under data transfer to AS/400
/tools/create AS/400 database file - there you will find a wizard to let you
create a database file from bunch of different formats including excel. Once
you have the data in a database file on as/400 that can be move to actual
database file in production.

We have used this option to receive an excel worksheet file from our client
and move this file into our database - the whole process is automated and
scheduled from Monday thru Friday. But again this is good for client
express.

Hope this will help,

Subject: From PC to AS400 data transfer

Greetings,

I have been charged with finding an 'elegant' method for transferring
information from Excel spreadsheets to the 400. In this case 'elegant'
means "without a lot of user intervention".

I'd appreciate your input on the method(s) that you'd recommend and why.

TIA
Sue Underwood
