Dave,

Of course, as you know, we have the 2664 cards in one of our machines. We
have the modem on our development machine. The machine we have the 8port
in is for Domino only, but I could try downloading SNDDOMFAX from
http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/domino/related/fxd/snddomfax.htm

In summary,
I could send test from:
modem from development,
2664 from production,
8port from Domino,
to you for quality comparison.
I could try the snddomfax and see if that will work for a quality test of
the 8port, but that will take some setup.
We never considered the performance aspect. My boss believes that if you
throw enough money at the 400, performance is not an issue. Can't argue
with success.

I would also really like to hear from anyone who has gone from the 2664
card
to one of the PCI cards. What has the performance and quality been? The
thing I don't like about switching from the 2664 card is that the
rasterization of the fax will be done via HPT (Host Print Transform) on our
/400, instead of on the card.

Yes, Rod, please do post your findings on the 2664 cards, along with any
other gotcha's, back to the list. The 2664 cards are one of the reasons
I've been holding up (for a couple clients) on the V5 upgrade. That and
calendars in OV/400 which one client still uses for meeting room scheduling
and such.

The 2664 cards are really not very good pieces of hardware...I keep getting
errors and calls from IBM regularly about at least one of them. But, I'd
like to know we can continue to use them, at least until the next budget
comes out :).
