Steve, Pluta Brothers Design has exactly the type of product you are looking
for. PSC400 is designed to take an existing legacy application and put a
graphical front end on it. We provide a staged approach - an initial
conversion to a "5250 emulation" HTML is almost entirely automated and takes
just a few minutes. Unlike screen scrapers, once you convert your programs
using PSC400, they run in batch, thereby avoiding the interactive tax. This
allows you a lot more expansion in your current system, or a much less
expensive upgrade if you decide to go to a new machine.

We can also generate a customizable JavaServer Page template for you that
will allow you to add any amount of GUI sophistication that you need, and we
can show you some of the techniques we've used to make these pages very
pleasing to the eye.

I notice that you said you are not going the e-business route "at the
present". However, if e-business is in your future, the PSC400 approach
works hand-in-hand with our sister product, Ambassador, from Linoma Logic
(the people who brought you the outstanding CVTILERPG utility and the
Surveyor/400 tool suite), taking advantage of all the converted legacy
applications without additional work.

This is just part of the PSC400 story. If you'd like more information or a
demonstration, please feel free to contact me. The PBD website isn't up to
date yet - we're busy adding features to the product line - but we're more
than happy to let you walk through some of our online demos if you're
interested.
