I'm by no means an expert in this area and there are many members of this
list who are way more qualified than I to respond, but this seems like XML
should be a pretty good fit here. I will follow this thread very closely as
we may have a requirement similar to yours in the near future.

What is the preferred method to transfer data between DB2/400 and DB2 on
WinNT/2000?

A WinNT/2000 server running DB2 acts as a front end accepting transactions
and performing initial data validation. We need to transfer these
transactions to the AS/400 and process them. Once the processing is
complete, any changes to the validation tables need to be sent to the
WinNT/2K server.  Other than an FTP transfer, what is a reliable method to
move this data between the two boxes? They are connected through a VPN over
the internet.

Data Joiner has been ruled out because it requires the netfinity card
within
the AS/400. Would DB2 Connect be appropriate for this situation?
