Leif - Power down the system Set control panel to manual (2BM) IPL to DST (if you can) 1. Work with disk configuration to see if you can see the drives 2. Check the failing hardware and see if one drive is called out. If you can not IPL to DST from disk you might want to IPL from CD-ROM (2DM) Again you can get into DST and check your disk configuration and failing devices. Since you are not running raid or mirroring one failed drive will cause you to reload (assuming all drives in one ASP) David -----Original Message----- From: Chuck Lewis [mailto:clewis@iquest.net] Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2001 8:44 AM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Disk missing from configuration And of course you are correct Al, sorry about that ! barsa@barsaconsulting.com wrote: > There is a minimum of 4 disk units in a device parity set. > > Al > > Al Barsa, Jr. > Barsa Consulting Group, LLC > > 400>390 > > 914-251-1234 > 914-251-9406 fax > > http://www.barsaconsulting.com > http://www.taatool.com > > > Chuck Lewis > <clewis@iquest.net> To: midrange-l@midrange.com > Sent by: cc: > midrange-l-admin@mi Subject: Re: Disk missing from configuration > drange.com > > > 08/16/01 11:30 AM > Please respond to > midrange-l > > > > Well 3 is better then one (have a friend with a system with only 1...) so > you > COULD go RAID but I'm guess your not ? > > HOPEFULLY someone with more knowledge then me will chime in here shortly - > good > luck ! > > Chuck > > Leif Svalgaard wrote: > > > no maint. 150, with 3 drives DD001, DD002, DD003, > > with DD001 gone missing.
