The incoming mail is being sorted date/time *received* and not by *sent*. Before last week, I was sorting by *sent*, and it worked better than *received* sequence most of the time.

Are you sure that you are getting them in the wrong order? I know that I
often get responses posted from someone in a different time zone from
someone asking a question. As a result, my emailer will list the one
with the earlier time on it first, even if that puts it out of order
with the question.
