Thanks to everyone who replied - CHGDSTPWD did the trick, and I think it was
the case sensitivity which caught us out in the first place.  

The 400 is normally pretty consistent, but having different sets of
passwords for profiles with the same name, where one is case sensitive and
one isn't, and they can both be different anyway must have been agreed when
the standards conformance guy was on vacation.

Hello Robin,

Sign on as QSECOFR and use the CHGDSTPWD command to reset the DST QSECOFR
password - remember that the DST passwords now are case sensitive; use shift
or caps lock when you enter the default password which is all upper case.
