Those are good instructions, but are only relevant if the Exchange server
accepts SMTP mail messages.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are not allowed to use the SMTP
portion of our local Exchange server (i.e., port 25 is closed). The only
email format supported is the Exchange format with "site connectors". Our
corporate standard dictates the use of Exchange, and Exchange's mail
formats, for all corporate email delivery. Because of this, we cannot send
email from our AS/400 without accommodating our own Internet connection.

We are currently sending SMTP mail by routing it to our corporate mail
server, which has SMTP active on its internal network interface. However, an
upcoming network audit will probably shut that hole. SMTP would then be
available only on the external (Internet-side) interface, not internal to
our network.

Does anyone know of other AS/400-to-Exchange email connectivity options
other than SMTP?

Loyd

Al Mac,

Go to http://www.bytware.com/Support/MPlus/egateway.html

These are the instructions we used to have the 400 forward e-mail to our
Exchange server. Then you can use SNDDST to send e-mail messages out of
your programs.
