<<Hey Ron, with all the discussion have you reached a decision on how you will <<manage the user count? Chris, Yeah, I did post a final resolution, but you might have missed it. For PC's, I'm going to count each TCPIP address as a separate user. This means that mulitple sessions on the same terminal only get counted once, but the same user on multiple terminals gets counted multiple times. This is the ideal we were trying to reach with "dumb terminals". For "dumb terminals" I'm going to look at the port and user profile to determine a user and allow 2 signons per port/user to count as a single user. This allows for dual sessions on each terminal to be counted as a single signon. And if I make the number of signons allowed a variable stuck in a user space somewhere, then we can change the number for accounts that really need more. This means that if a user signs onto the same port all seven times, I will count him only 4 times. He gets 3 freebies. But if he really needs dual sessions to be productive, as soon as he starts another session on f those terminals I will start to pick up the count correctly. It's not perfect, but it seems to be a pretty fair compromise. Again I want to say thanks to everybody who contributed to this discussion. It's nice to know that a lot of people struggled with the right way to handle this and that I didn't miss something real obvious.
