Hi Jim I rolled my own CRTOBJ command some years ago to get round this sort of thing. We had problems with people not remembering to compile with TGTRLS(*PRV) when our development box was upgraded ahead of the production machine. I set up the one PDM option and copied it to everyones option file. As it included all the common CRTxxx commands people got used to using CP instead of 14. The CL routine has all the defaults coded into it[1], though some parameters (like TGTRLS) can be changed at prompt time, which may be the sort of thing you could use. If you're interested I'll drop the code onto my web site. Regards, Martin [1] I'll admit it also helps that we have the Synon/1E (Cool:Extras or whatever it is these days) preprocessor set up. It's triggered by the routing entry on the job and picks up its own 'Z-specs' in the source and adds them to the CRTxxx command that was issued. That way you can ensure a printer file always gets compiled with the right overflow line and *OUTQ ;-) -- martin@dbg400.net / jamaro@firstlinux.net http://www.dbg400.net DBG/400 - DataBase Generation utilities Open Source test environment tools for the AS/400 / iSeries and miscellaneous database & spooled file management commands. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
