Jim, About a year ago, I experimented with L&H VoiceXpress Professional version 5 to see if it could reduce strain on my wrist while typing code in SEU.  I had limited success with that effort, though I think it has promise for the near future, or maybe even now if I had more time to experiment.  For translating normal spoken language it works fine regardless of the application (word processor, 5250 green screen text entry field, etc). Just understand that you install the speech recognition software on each PC and users speak instead of typing when they see fit to do so ... no changing your applications.  -Dave K.

Subject: Voice Recognition-anyone

Has anyone successfully integrated Voice Recognition (VR) into an AS400 application?
Not talking about phone order entry/inquiry.
I mean many users with headsets "talking" to the app - order entry, etc.
I have an app that is almost like dictating a letter - lots of text, names, addresses, etc.
They would like to "talk" to the app instead of typing. Add, chg, delete, inquiry.
Currently have pc's with CA/400 or web cgi running the app.
