No experience on the AFP question, BUT it just strikes me as proper for
a company making firearms to be running on the best built most reliable
server around. Imagine how unsafe the weapons would be if they were
producted by a company running on say some other unnamed operating
system.  Oh wait, didn't the US Government equip some navy cruisers with
that OS to control the entire ship?   Forget I said anything....
