I'm
not sure this will work (haven't tried it) but I'd take a look at the QCAPCMD
API. If you specify a 1 in the first field of the Option Control Block (which is
type of command processing) then the API will function the same way as QCMDCHK
and will just check the validitiy of the format of the command. The third field
in the Option Control Block controls the prompter action. Put a 1 in that field
and the command will always be prompted. Running the API with these two
options selected might allow you to prompt the command, accept input, and get
back a formatted command string that you could then pass to the SBMJOB command.
