Chris, Another way of looking at this issue ... How likely do you think it is that the dept head or company officer who is accepting the 2nd rate solution from the scheming vendor is themself making the decision based on their own self interest? By self interest I mean either outright kickback, nepotism, cronyism, etc. Or that their only interest is in having the computer system under their control so that they can control the inputs into the system and hence control what is reported up to corporate. In my experience, the further up the chain of command you go in a company, the more decisions are made in the self interest of the decision maker. I believe there is a reason for everything. If it looks like someone is making a dumb decision, well, you probably dont know all the reasons. Stay the course.
