It's possible to have the output of the FTP control session be logged to a file, which you could then parse and try to find all of the possible errors. But, I REALLY don't recommend this method. It may not seem that hard at first, but I think you'll find that it'll never be particularly robust. I've written an "FTP API" that makes it very easy to work directly with FTP in your RPG IV programs. (Actually, since it's ILE, you can probably call it from CL programs as well, but I haven't tried this) I made this API open source, and a lot of people have found it useful.
