Yes... You can connect to the same machine. In fact, you do it exactly the same way that you would connect to a different machine... just specify the IP address of the local machine when connecting. Also, there's a special IP that allows you to connect to the same machine, even if there are no other TCP/IP interfaces on your machine. That would be the "127.0.0.1" IP address, often referred to as "loopback" or "localhost". No special configuration or special communication objects are required.
