If you have performance tools then WRKSYSACT might be a better bet. There
are tasks which take up CPU but yet don't appear as jobs. If you had a
newer version of OS I would strongly recommend the Management Central
portion of Operations Navigator, but I don't think it quite goes back to
the Jurassic Age. But, what the heck, you can try it and see what happens.
Actually my boss monitors performance like a hawk, and actually is quite
quick to throw money at a problem to fix it. I can't argue, it is
effective.

I've got a 9406-510 running at V3R7 with the "latest" cumes. Over the
past few days, we've been seeing the CPU running consistently in the 75%
- 90+% range all day long. A cursory look at the jobs in WRKACTJOB
showed a total of about 40% when the display header shows 74%. Our job
queue is beginning to get backed up a bit. Disk uitilization is
currently at 81%, BUT we've had this condition for at least a few weeks
now. This system hasn't seen disk utilization under 70% in a long LONG
time.
Where do I start looking?
