Nathan,
Quite a while back I read an article about Jacada "Innovator" product (I
have no relationship with Jacada) and in a side note it was pointed out
that it eliminated, by accident, the interactive hit of the CPW.
I've never used the product but from what I've read, it seems to take
your DDS and convert it into a client/server model.
That is a whole lot different that a screen scraper putting a pretty
face on what amounts to an interactive hit Telnet session.
Maybe someone with experience with the Jacada product would be willing
to share their experience?
The big question would be: At what number of users does the Jacada
license fee become cheaper than the IBM interactive hardware fee. At
what point does software become cheaper than hardware? Please include a
5 year total cost of ownership.
Anyone have this info?
