There is an API to generate a random number, but that won't guarantee
uniqueness in your application.  The job number could be used, though that
will wrap around eventually, with numbers being recycled.  Modifying your
design to use only a single file having a key structure with a key from a
Next Numbers file (FunctionCode, NextNumber), where NextNumber can be very
large can give you uniqueness for all practical purposes.  -Dave K.
