This has happened to us a couple of times. After trying everything imaginable, 
we circumvented it by IPL'ing the system.

I am having trouble getting an AS/400 (at v4r5) recognizing a 5494 tape
library.  It is configured correctly I am sure, the config steps have been
gone through many times, it has been auto-configured too at one point;  but
still the thing will not vary on 'in the allocated time'.

Has anyone any ideas what might be the solution to this ?
