Hi Chris,

Thanks for the thought. I'd already checked that. Since I posted the
message, I've been trying various things and found that I can copy the file
to /home/pdow, then use CPY to copy it to /QNTC... if I specify 1252 as the
TOCODEPAGE on the CPY command. 1252 is the CCSID of the /QNTC directory.

I'm also annoyed with the documentation, which states that CPYTOIMPF can
copy from a single-format logical file, but it turns out it will not copy
from a single-format join logical file. So I'm first copying the join
logical to QTEMP to create a physical, then copying that to /QNTC. The
physical file in QTEMP gets created with CCSID 37. Then the CPYTOIMPF fails
trying to copy it to /QNTC...
