Hey Al Mac, >, can you reccommend the best e-mail & browser to avoid this kind of > nonsense, or a web site that honestly provides pros & cons between > the best > contenders. There are ways to configure your DirectX drivers in Win95/98 so that it will prompt you before running any script. That will catch the viruses before they start, but they'll also catch every single script that comes down the pike. I updated to Win2KPro, which don't use DirectX as a part of the OS - therefore the scripts don't run. If you can't upgrade your OS, think about finding a mail client that isn't a Microsoft product and has security measures in place to keep scripts from running. I'm sure plenty of people are willing to throw in their two cents on decent mail clients. - Erik http://www.baron-inc.net +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
