Thanks, I just got two replies to me, not to the list, 
From:   pcrao@esplindia.com (pcrao)

first quoting first few lines of my post to BPCS_L on PUR262 Vendor 
Performance
then saying to see the attached  fun.pif (13312 bytes)
for info on resolving this

second quoting first few lines of a post I made trying to help some other 
user with INV500
then saying to see the attached Card.pif (13312 bytes)
for info on resolving this

Now that you draw my attention to this,
the format of reply is identical 
quote a few lines
point to the attachment

attachment naming seems a bit odd for the kind of answer called for by the 
prior postings.

This could be a virus that is targeting message lists & other ones on 
midrange dot com might be alerted to the risk.
