Hi there,

I configured DNS. The file is /QIBM/USERDATA/OS400/DNS/BOOT
is there. I tried to start DNS with "strtcpsvr server(*dns)" but without
success. I checked joblog qtobdns and it says:

  Message . . . . : DNS server starting.
40 05.06.01 12:15:13 QTOBCUTL QDNS *STMT *EXT
  From module . . . . . . . . : SYSLOG
  From procedure . . . . . . : as400_log__FPCcPcT2e
  Statement . . . . . . . . . : 67
  Message . . . . : Could not open boot configuration file
    /QIBM/USERDATA/OS400/DNS/BOOT.
  Cause . . . . . : While attempting to open the file
/QIBM/USERDATA/OS400/DNS/BOOT, the following error occurred: Permission
denied. Recovery . . . : Correct the problem by following one of the
steps below. Then, restart the DNS server. - Verify the the Domain
Name
System product is correctly installed on your AS/400. If not, install
the
Domain Name System product. - Verify a boot configuration file has been
created in the Integrated File System directory /QIBM/UserData/OS400/DNS
directory. If not, create a boot configuration file. - Check for
previously
listed messages which identify the specific cause of the error. Correct
any
error conditions and restart the DNS server. Technical description . . .
. .
. . . : The open() function did not run successfully.

  From module . . . . . . . . : SYSLOG
  From procedure . . . . . . : as400_log__FPCcPcT2e

The product has been installed correctly and the boot record is available.
By the way I got the same problem also with DHCP.

Would appreciate if somebody could help.

Thanks a lot
Chris
