I'm curious about the answer to Charly's question too, but let me
expand/change it, can I take his two option 21 saves (one from each
partition) and restore them to two different machines (one partition on one
machine and one partition on another?)

Walden, YES you can do  either. even to  another partition on the same machine if you  like.

Subject: Re: What about the PLIC?

So, does this mean that if I configure a system with two
partitions, load up a bunch
of stuff in each partition, and then do an option 21 save in each
partition, that I will be able to take those 2 option 21 saves
and recreate the whole mess on a similar set of hardware
at a recovery site?  Or will I have to be doing the partition
magic and configuring the hardware before I can restore at
the recovery site?  Has anyone looked at the V5R1 Backup +
Recovery manual to see what the procedure is?

Seems like the less that has to be done at the recovery site,
the better.  Also seems like a partitioned system will
be harder to setup at a recovery site.
