Divide total CPU system by  n-way to get number of processors ie  system CPW

Below V5R1 you  slice  up the partitions CPW on the processor boundaries
CPU, at V5R1  & SStar processors you  can do it almost anyway you want with
in the min/ max rules.  As granular as 0.1% of a processor or multiple and
fractional processors.  CPW  changes as low as .01%,and life is more
dynamic and fewer IPLs on changes.

From V4R4  forward almost every system might be LPARed

If you  need deeper details Email me  privately.

Does anybody (IBM guys please pitch in) know if different
LPARs could support different CPWs or is the CPW for
the system as a whole?
