QSPGETF is not an API, and there is no formal documentation (or support) for using this program. It was originally intended as an aid to service in moving reports from user systems to the service personnel. Through various informal mechanisms users have become aware of the program and have used it with varying degrees of success, but it is not considered to be a formal programming interface by IBM. Supported spool related APIs can be found in the System API Reference. These APIs may not be as easy to use as QSPGETF (for simple things anyway), but are documented and do work (which is an advantage :) ).
