First off, remote printers is normally an LPR concept in that the LPD server is
not necessarily an iSeries LPD server.  So, what follows applies to iSeries LPD,
assuming that's your target system.

More jobs will allow more LPR clients to "connect" more quickly and start
processing, but it won't speed up the print job itself.  The number of servers
is your "backlog" and a larger backlog handles more LPR requests in a short
period of time than a small one (the SBMJOB call gates the ramping up of new LPD
server jobs).  If your LPR clients report inability to connect to LPD
frequently, then you need a larger CHGLPDA NBRSVR value.
