M Hello Steve, You wrote: >If the ibm v5r1 rtvjoba will rtn the <=25 library libl into the char 275 var >w/o error and will signal an excp ONLY if the rtvd libl will not fit in the >rtn var, then imo the ibm solution is the correct one. IIRC that is exactly how it has been designed. While it might have been nice to have a system value as Al proposed this is not as big a problem as he is suggesting. If you stick with 25 or fewer libraries in the user portion of the library list you won't have an issue. If you exceed the 25 library barrier then you must change your code. Woop-de-bloody-do! The only drawback I can see is when some unsuspecting fool adds the 26th library to the list and all hell breaks loose -- but then one must ask "Why are they being paid good money too manage a system if they don't understand the ramifications of a system-wide change?" There is also a serious question regarding application design if you need more than 25 user libraries. What will these idiots do when 250 libraries are not enough? Certain software designers need a good slap upside the haid! Hopefully the traffic on this overrated topic will settle down now.
