John, If IBM took those commands away, you'd better believe that I'd be upset -- I'd have a lot of programs that would just stop working. Odds are pretty good I'd never upgrade to that release. However, there's a HUGE difference between taking away existing commands, and turning API's into commands. For the most part, I think the API's already have commands were appropriate. Such as DSPPGM and DSPDTAARA instead of using the equiv API's... What exactly are you wanting them to do at the command-line that isn't already done? So much that you think it needs to be standardized across all the shops?
