It's that those types of comparisons and benchmarks are only applicable to a tiny percentage of the marketplace. In other words, what good is knowing that a 24-way iSeries is a great Java box, when those of us on 170's, 270's etc., can't get the machine to perform as well as one or two W2K servers? I'm not saying that the new performance figures aren't impressive, simply that they're based on a system that few of us have ever laid eyes upon.
