With CAE, I believe the only way to do this is to have netserver running. The printer will also have to be added as a share under netserver (can be done through Ops Nav). Then find the AS/400 netserver (qsystemname - usually). Either go start/find/computer/qsystemname or start/run/"\\qsystem". Then find the printer and install it. That is very simplified, but it should get you started. Check out this redbook: AS/400 Client Access Express for Windows: Implementing V4R4M0, SG24-5191-00 Chapter 5 is about NetServer and section 6 discusses printers. Section 7 discusses finding your shares. That should be more helpful than I. Hope this helps, Chris Whisonant -----Original Message----- From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of ray@esprinkle.cc Sent: Thursday, May 17, 2001 10:13 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Client Access Express Printers? I have a client who just started using CAE. They are/were using the V3R2 version of Client Access. In the older version my client could add an AS400 printer by selecting start/settings/printers/add printers through Windows and the Companies AS400 icon would appear. They would then click the icon and all of the available printers would display. My problem is that I haven't figured out a way to do the same thing using Client Access Express. As a matter of fact, I can't find the view the AS400 via Network Neighborhood like I use to. Does anyone have any insight into this? Thanks.
