Oddly enough, the management team that ran Atari into the ground was headed
by Jack Tramiel and his sons, who had great success with Commodore in pre
Amiga days.  

I think they operated on principles like "the bill's not due until the
judgement is final."

I used to belong to an Atari users' group.  Because we were about 40 miles
from Atari galactic headquarters in Sunnyvale, we got staff developers and
management people as speakers very often.  The q & a part of the evening
resembled sound off sessions at Common.
