Damn, I feel old all of a sudden.

I remember him from the early S/38 COMMON presentations, first one I saw was
in Miami.

Too bad he didn't get a farewell tour of COMMONs and Tech Conferences to get
the Standing Ovations he so richly deserved. I was looking forward to
taking at least one of his pitches in Palm Springs next month.

Perhaps he'll continue in the iSeries community as Jon and Susan have?

Subject: John Sears Retires.....

For those who haven't heard, John Sears retired yesterday. And, yesterday
was his last day.

This had been planned for a while, he wanted a quiet, no fanfair last day
and his requests were honored.

He is in good health (put those rumours to rest:).

His current endeavor is that he is working with his son in a joint effort
in Rochester in a company his son recently started.

I'm sure iSeries Magazine, MMU, and all the other weekly e-updates will
have further details.

His presence will be missed, but let's face it, he's put in his time, paid
more than his pound of flesh and he's due.....

Many of our lives have been impacted by John over the years and his
presence, knowledge and help will be missed, but we wish him well in the
next chapter of his life.

Don in DC
