Jim,

I have changed between the *DSCMSG and the *DSCENDRQS and both times when I
disconnect and reconnect I get the "Attempt to Recover Interactive Jobs"
screen.

I ended my sessions completely and restarted them as the SYSVAL help says,
but no luck.

Any other ideas or am I doing this wrong?

Thanks

Nathan

is this tn5250 (telnet) or some other emulate a dumb term?

your system value QDEVRCYACN Device I/O error action should be
controlling this. Sound like you are set to *DSCENDRQS. Can also
override this with CHGJOB for each individual job.
other options include
*MSG
Signals the I/O error message to the user's application program.
The application program performs error recovery.

*DSCMSG
Disconnects the job. When signing-on again, an error message is
sent to the user's application program.

*DSCENDRQS
Disconnects the job. When signing-on again, a cancel request
function is performed to return control of the job back to the last
    request level.

*ENDJOB
Ends the job. A job log is produced for the job. A message is sent
to the job log and to the QHST log indicating that the job was ended
    because of device error.

*ENDJOBNOLIST
Ends the job. A job log is not produced for the job. A message is
sent to the QHST log indicating that the job was ended because of

also - do you have inactive job timeout on? sysval QINACTITV?
