Al, look again. Opening a file in Notepad for editing is potent stuff. That's just for starters. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ barsa@barsaconsulting.com Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 04/12/2001 06:33 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: QCMD If the truth be known, neither Jim nor I knew that the quoted statement was going to be printed. I did not read the book fully, and missed it until a mortified IBM employee called me and read it to me, being afraid that Jim or I would take offense. On behalf of both Jim (who is out of the country) and I, neither of us was offended. IBM has promised us as a user community that Ops. Nav's function will double in V5R1, and if they deliver on this promise, then maybe we will switch. Up until this point, Ops. Nav has had insufficient critical mass to be a realistic user interface. If you have it please go to page talking about V5R1. At the end of the first paragraph is an interesting quote. "IBM says the new graphical interfaces and wizards are so compelling that IBMers are taking bets on who will abandon CALL QCMD first, Sloan or Barsa?" I would like MIDRANGE-L start to start a survey on this. Any takers. My bet is that it will be a dead heat that they both will wait until the last minute to declare. Al, any comments.
