  • Subject: Configure a 270 - system bus count

Anyone know how many busses you can get in a big 270?

I am looking at a #2253 2-way processor with a #7104 System Unit Expansion
as well as a #7123 DASD Expansion Unit and I don't know
how to determine the number of system busses. I have spent
some time looking at the official iSeries systems handbook, but
it isn't clear to me how many busses are included.

We are also looking at a #5075 HSL minitower which I suppose adds
a buss to the count. I found a statement that the
#5074 HSL tower adds two busses, so I am assuming the #5075
adds just one. But I don't know if these busses are considered
"system busses" - for instance, would you be able to put a
load source disk or an MFIOP out in either the #5075 or the #5074?

Thanks for your help,

Charly Jones
