Alexei,

You are right on the mark.  This particular routine writes low priority
pages out to disk.

Since DB2 group ptfs have never been applied to this box at V4R4 and knowing
that there  were major performance ptf's for V4R4 DB2, I am going to apply
SF99104 this weekend and see how it changes what I am seeing.  I have a gut
level feel this will help.
