The CL Guide is useful reference but not good starting point. IBM does several excellent classes & good handouts with them. The most economical start point might be the CL Style Guide at AS/400 network ... these are the people who bring us News/400 magazine which is a fine monthly collection of technical 400 guidance & subscribers also are professional members of the AS/400 network, then other people who work at the same place that gets News/400 can be associate members for like $20.00. A lot of the stuff there is free - you need not be a member, but some stuff you have to be a member to get.
