Just got the daily paper.  Guess what's on the front page.

U.S. Rep Brad Sherman (D-Calif) has proposed that the left coast shift
two hours instead of just one.  Supposed to save them a whole bunch of
energy.

He sponsored HR704, the Energy Time Adjustment Authorization Act, which
allows Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada to have another one
hour jump around the first of May.

I didn't make this up.

From the article, this has been done in the past.  It allows each state
to determine it's own policy.  So while California may use it,
Washington may not choose to and Oregon may just delay the date of the
normal daylight saving time adjustment.  Nevada will most likely just
set odds on it ever happening.
